Description
The ABO Blood Typing is used in the determination of ABO blood group for transfusion candidates or for those who want to determine their blood type. Blood grouping of expectant mothers and newborns may indicate potential for ABO hemolytic disease of the fetus/newborn. It is not required to be fasting for this test.
Limitations: Abnormal plasma proteins, cold autoagglutinins, positive direct antiglobulin test, and, in some cases, bacteremia may interfere with test interpretation
