The Kidney Health Profile is comprised of a Renal Function Profile, Complete Blood Count (CBC) and Urinalysis.
The Complete Blood Count with Differential (CBC) screens for blood abnormalities including red and white blood cells, hemoglobin and platelets. The CBC is used as a screening test to check for possible disorders such as anemia, infection, and many other diseases.
Renal Function Profile is used in the diagnosis and management of illnesses and injuries causing changes in renal function. Patient Preparation: Patient should fast for 12 hours preceding collection of specimen. The tests that are measured are Albumin, BUN, BUN/Creatinine ratio, Calcium, CO2, Chloride, Creatinine, Glucose, Phosphorus, Potassium, and Sodium.
Urinalysis is a group of tests performed to detect the presence of some possible substances in the blood in order to give a first alert for many possible problems. The urinalysis measures 11 chemistries in the urine. These chemistries include Protein, Glucose, Ketones, Hemoglobin, Urobilinogen, Leukocyte Esterase, Nitrite, ph, Specific Gravity, RBC’s, and WBC’s.
